Our History

Serving Nova Scotia

Our funeral homes all have a trusted history that includes many years of service to their communities. MacDiarmid's Funeral Home was founded in Oxford by Doug and Shirley MacDiarmid in 1973. A branch location in Wentworth was later added. Both locations are currently operated by Doug and Shirley's son, Andrew, and his wife, Leta. A crematorium and an expanded chapel were added in 2014.

Mundle's Funeral Home was founded in Pugwash in 1943 by Irving Mundle and his wife, Edna. The Mundle family carried on their proud tradition until 2005, when Andrew and Leta MacDiarmid became sole owners. Presently, Mundle's is managed by Wallace native Don Jamieson. Coulter's Funeral Home was established in Tatamagouche in 1974 by Jack Coulter. Coulter's is managed by Cory Lunn.
