Croft, William "Bill" Murray - 83, Oxford, passed away November 27th, 2024 in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst. Born in Chatham, NB, he was a son of the late Perley and Isabella "Bella" (Murray) Croft. Bill worked for over 32 years with the Canadian National Railway for the Track & Signal Department, working in various location throughout the Maritimes and Quebec, where he many lifelong friends and enjoyed keeping in touch and spending time with them in retirement. Spending time at the camp and hunting, which he began doing at a very young age, was a passion for Bill. He especially loved hunting season where he would spend the month of November hunting with family and friends, doing so for over 65 years. Bill loved to snowmobile and 4-wheel at the camp and in the summers planted a garden at the cottage in younger years and at home in his later years. He always loved to be doing something, whether it be in his garage, looking after his Ford's, sitting talking with friends who would drop by or lending a helping hand to someone. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Sharon Dixon; daughter, Nancy Croft, Truro; grandson, Matthew Hilchie, Truro; twin sister, Gloria Stewart, London, ON; niece, Carol; nephews, Mike, Ian and Darren. Besides his parents he was predeceased by grandmother, Agnes Murray; aunt, Violet Priebe and uncle, Clarence Croft. Arrangements are in the care of MacDiarmid's Funeral Homes & Crematorium. According to Bill's wishes cremation has taken place and a private family burial will happen in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery, Oxford. Donations in Bill's memory may be made to the SPCA.
