It is with heavy hearts that we must tell the world of the passing of our father, husband, brother, grandfather and friend. Thayne Garland Harold Roberts on March 28, 2024. Thayne was born on January 1, 1952 to Harold and Marion Roberts. He was born and raisedin Halifax, Nova  Scotia and from a young age loved cars and mechanics. He spent countless hours making go-carts, driving mini bikes and working on cars. This became a passion for him and he would attend Halifax Regional Vocational School and become a mechanic, working in the industry until 2001 when he fulfilled his dream in becoming a long haul truck driver. He would spend the next 23 years driving countless miles (over 1 million) all over North America with many trips to Newfoundland, his favourite place in the world. He worked for a few companies before finding Keltic Transportation and becoming part of their family. He worked there until his retirement in May 2023. A dedicated and much loved employee. His first love was his family. Welcoming two daughters, Carina (Chris) Brown and Shyla (Jason) Casey, with Delene Dares, our beloved Nanny Witch. He would then marry wifeDianne (Fader) Roberts and have Melissa (Seth) Babineau and Ashley Roberts. He would welcome 9 beautiful grandchildren into the world, Austin (26), Caden (22), Tara (21), Camryn (20), Casey (14), MacKenzie (12), Keira (12), Issac (10), and Charleigh (8). He adored his grandchildren and was always there for life events, with hugs, and lots of teasing. Always showing up in quiet loving ways. He spent his time away from work tinkering, doing small home repairs, always pouring into his family. Many vehicles were fixed, not without a wrench flying from time to time. And his friends could always count on him for help, whether helping move something, odd jobs, some carpentry work or whatever he could help with. He was a man of few words but his love poured out into the people he knew. He enjoyed camping, and as a young boy was a Boy Scout. His love for this continued into his adult life with many camping trips with his family, grandchildren included. Traveling through The Maritimes, camper in tow. Many memories, campfires, and stories to be told. He will be greatly missed by all and remembered always by his sisters, Debbie (Ted) Monk and Lori (Joey) MacPherson. He is predeceased by his sisters, Christina Piper and Barbara Roberts as well as his parents, Harold and Marion. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 6 at 2 pm in Mundle's Funeral Home, 204 Water St. Pugwash NS, B0K1L0. Rev. Leslie Somers officiating with a reception to follow at The Meeting Place Church, 169 Russell St. Pugwash. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Meeting Place Church Benevolent Fund or The Canadian Cancer Society.
