Thomas, Stephen John, 72, Pugwash, formerly of Upper Rawdon, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023, at the Sunset Community. Born in Upper Rawdon, April 27, 1950, Stephen was the son of the late Ivor and Gladys [Wellwood] Thomas. Surviving are his siblings Evelyn, Carol, David and Julie; several nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Keith. Stephen worked at various jobs from construction, millwork, lumbering, to landscaping, travelling from Halifax to the west coast. He made numerous trips to Alberta, working in northern and southern parts of the province. Stephen enjoyed collecting and caring for guitars. He was musical and a very talented guitar player and entertainer. He played and sang for fellow residents and at family get-togethers. He was a storyteller and very good at it. A favorite person of his younger nieces and nephews, he was often their babysitter, telling stories and sharing jokes. Stephen cared deeply for his family keeping their pictures and mementoes nearby. For the past 25 years, Stephen made Sunset his home and was very-well cared for by considerate and caring staff. Donations in memory may be made to the Sunset Community or the Centre Rawdon Anglican Church Cemetery.
