Obituary

It is with a broken heart we announce the passing of Stephen Aubrey Adams, 59, of Westchester Station on October 31, 2020 at home, with his family by his side. Born in Truro, he was the oldest son of the late Harold and Yvonne (George) Adams. Stephen started working in the woods with his father at the age of 16, then started his own logging company, Adams Logging. He left the woods in 1989 to work four years with Windsor Salt Pugwash. In 1992 he started working with Dexter Construction, Bedford as a truck driver, working his way to being one of the best dozer operators in the Maritimes. To this day Stephen never used a GPS to do the grades on his job, he could just look and tell you where it needed fixed. Stephen loved the outdoors and nature. He was an avid hunter and loved fishing, an interest he passed on to his sons Jesse and William. He was very proud to go moose hunting in Cape Breton seven times. To him it was like winning the lottery over and over. Stephen also had a love for motorcycles and he and his wife Laurel toured all over Nova Scotia, mainly in Cape Breton in hopes of seeing moose, of course! Stephen is survived by his wife, Laurel (Palmer); sons, Jesse (Ashley Fitzpatrick) and William; daughter, Ashley (David Tunnillie); seven grandchildren; sisters, Sheila (Warren Patriquin); Wendy (Ron Nalewajek); Barb (Stephen Rushton); sister-in-law, Patti Adams. Besides his parents he was predeceased by best friend and younger brother, Rod. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cumberland Palliative Care Society or IWK, Halifax. Cremation in the care of MacDiarmid's Funeral Home and Crematorium, Oxford. The family will receive visitors Saturday, November 7th from 2-5 p.m. at Wentworth Recreation Centre.
