Ferdinand, Shirley – 82, West Pugwash, passed peacefully on March 15, 2022, surrounded by family at the North Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Pugwash. Born in Sydney Mines she was a daughter of the late Phillip and Catherine Gilbert. Shirley enjoyed baking, going for drives, walking and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Herbert Ferdinand; children, David Ferdinand (Susan), Pugwash, Brenda Vale (Robert), Moncton, Patty Ferdinand (David), Pugwash, Kevin Ferdinand (Misty), West Pugwash; her 13 grandchildren, Michael, Julie, Amanda, Mark, Colin, Allison, Alyssa, Molly, Nikki, Peipei, Payson, Trent, Drew; great grandchildren, Nora, Lucah, Everett, Isaiah, Joseph. Besides her parents she was predeceased by all of her siblings, Wilson, Alex, Joe, Russel, Eldon, May, Christina. A celebration of Shirley's life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2022, in Mundle's Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash, with visitation prior to the service starting at 1 p.m.. Covid restrictions still apply. Donations in memory may be made the North Cumberland Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
