It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roger Leroy Yorke, 70, of Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia. After a brief but courageous battle with cancer, he passed away peacefully at Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital on Monday, April 6, 2026.

His family is deeply grateful to the hospital staff, doctors, nurses, and the community for their care, support, and respect for his privacy during his final days.

A proud father and devoted Grampy, Roger is survived by his children, Heather (Ryan) and Christopher (Cherish), as well as their mother and his dear friend, Mimi Yorke. He also leaves behind his five granddaughters—Caidence, Hannah, Everly, Fable, and Adaline—along with his long-time companion, Brenda.

Though his final days passed quickly, his later years were filled with adventure and cherished memories, including several trips out west and to Caribou Island. A true man of the mountains, he spent as many of his remaining days at home as he could.

Predeceased by his parents, Keith and Hazel, and his brother, Barry.

The interment of Roger's ashes held at Bell Gift Cemetery in West New Annan on Friday, June 12 at 3:00 p.m. The family invites friends and family to join them at The Meeting House for refreshments and conversation afterwards.  More parking is available at the Meeting House (the old church) for the short walk for those who have no mobility concerns.
