Robert Stewart
Wynn
Aug 31, 1949 — Aug 26, 2024
Pugwash
Affectionately known as "Bobby," "Winnie," and "Bobbert"
Born: August 31, 1949 - Passed Away: August 26, 2024
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert "Bobby" Steward Wynn, who left us peacefully on Monday, August 26, 2024. Bobby was born on August 31, 1949, at Grace Maternity Hospital in Halifax and became a ward of the court in 1950. He found a loving home at the Sunset Community, where he arrived on July 16, 1971.
Bobby was a beloved member of the Sunset Community for over five decades. Though he required assistance with all activities of daily living, his joyful spirit and infectious smile touched the hearts of everyone around him. He loved music, especially upbeat tunes that made his toes tap with happiness, and he adored hearing his name called out loudly. Bobby enjoyed being outside, spending time on the swing, being read to, and listening to shows on TV with his co-residents. A fan of relaxing baths and gentle tickles, Bobby's laughter was cherished by all, and his bright demeanor in the mornings made staff look forward to coming to work.
He was described by those closest to him as sweet, gentle, and kind, with the best giggle and a calming presence that made caring for him a privilege. He seemed to possess a unique sense of peace with his life and himself, an enlightened soul who brought joy and comfort to all who knew him.
One of Bobby's most cherished relationships was with Donalda Jamieson, a dedicated staff member at Sunset Community who supported him for many years. Even after her retirement, Donalda continued to visit and spend time with Bobby until her own passing. She also served as his statutory decision-maker and generously arranged for his final resting place at Palmerston Cemetery in West Pugwash.
During Bobby's final moments, a staff member "Kelly-Jo", off duty at the time, rushed to the hospital upon learning his end was near, choosing to sit by his side and provide comfort as he peacefully transitioned. This gesture speaks to the deep love and care Bobby inspired in those around him.
A service to celebrate Bobby's life will be held and posted here at a later date.
Bobby will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. His smile, laughter, and gentle spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
