Smith, Robert John - 77, Kolbec, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025 in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst. Born in Oxford, he was a son of the late Frederick and Margaret (Miller) Smith. Robert worked for over the years in trucking and construction having worked for Fraser Wood and Costin's Paving. He also worked in carpentry having worked with Gerry Casey. Robert loved being outdoors either fishing or hunting and even cutting his own wood. He had a passion for horses and wagons. Robert especially loved driving the back roads in the country with friends and family. Robert is survived by fiancé, Corrine Lockhart; daughter, Jennifer (James) Morrison; sons, Johnny (Sabrina) and Nathan (Anna); 5 grandchildren; sisters, June Longshaw; Betty (Frank) Froebe;  several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Ernie, Leo, Delbert,  Frederick "Junior" and Kenneth. A visitation to celebrate Robert's life will be held on Saturday, January 25 from 2-4 pm in MacDiarmid's Funeral Home & Crematorium.
