It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Robert Leslie Cameron. Born on May 29, 1965, to late Aubrey and Dorothy (Roberts) Cameron in Tatamagouche.

After graduating from North Colchester High School, Robert attended Truro Teachers College graduating with a Math Degree. Deciding that teaching wasn't for him, he joined Willow Lodge. Robert devoted 34 years to the Lodge, first in housekeeping and then dietary. Many residents and their families asking after him and wondering if the place could run when he wasn't there. Often found drinking coffee, sharing stories, discussing the latest news, or simply finding new ways of winding up is fellow co-workers. Robert spent his life time caring for people: his parents, family and friends.

Robert could be simply described as a character, if you met him you wouldn't forget him. From his well-known humor to his heartfelt care, he had a way of bringing you to tears with laughter. Known for his baking, he'd often volunteered to bring bake goods like warm homemade rolls he would get up early to make for dinner. Robert enjoyed being outdoors in his gardens or found having a quiet coffee on the deck. It was well known not to call when Coronation Street was on because he wouldn't answer. As not to miss an episode. In the past, Robert could be found at the rink Thursdays curling, especially for the Middleton Mayor's Cup. Saturdays were spent with friends, Geordie and Sandra listening to the hoedown, even with his dislike of country music. He said it was the company and laughs that kept him going. Robert was always in the company of an animal, from his beloved dog Jude and cat Rosella, most recently his cat Spike.

He leaves behind Eileen (Geoffrey) MacLeod, Truro Heights; Cindy Heighton, Truro; Margaret Trueman, Tatamagouche Mountain; John Cameron, Oxford; and Gary (Heather Weatherby) Cameron, Salmon River, along with his numerous nieces and nephews whom he treated as his own.

Robert was predeceased by both parents; his sister, Shelley Marie; his nephew, Jordon Cameron; and brother-in-law, Hal Trueman.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 24 from 6-8 p.m., with funeral service on Monday, August 25 at 2 p.m. both in Coulter's Funeral Home, Tatamagouche, with Reverend Connie McNamara officiating. Burial to follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Denmark. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
