Obituary

Mills, Paul Kenneth. August 22, 1960 – April 28, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Kenneth Mills who died peacefully on April 28, 2026, at home in Balfron, Colchester, Nova Scotia at the age of 65. Paul was the son of the late Kenneth Joseph Mills and Lillian Grace (Robinson) Mills.

Paul originally trained as a chef at Dartmouth Vocational School. After graduation he worked as a cook at Camp Hill Hospital in Halifax. Paul continued to love cooking throughout his life. He especially enjoyed cooking for family and friends at events like his infamous Keloose parties, New Year's Day skating parties and while at the hunting/fishing camp.

Paul went on to work for the Halifax Parks and Recreation Division as a Refrigeration Technician for 34 years before his retirement. He spent most of those years happily working at the LeBrun Recreation Centre in Bedford. He really enjoyed supporting the young athletes trying to be their best.

Paul adored the outdoors through all seasons. Many hours were spent on Third Lake in Windsor Junction swimming, waterskiing, boating, and fishing during the summer months. Paul also enjoyed gardening. He would ski-doo and skate during the winter. Many of hockey games were played on the lake in winter in his younger years. He had loved to work on skidoo's and drive his old cars.

Paul's favorite times were spent at his beloved family home on Third Lake which he had spent many hours in his late teens helping his father and Uncles to build. Paul had many lifelong friends, and was affectionately known by them as 'Milzie'.

Paul is survived by his loving brother and sisters, Peter (Paula) Mills, Patty Robertson (Paul Hubley), and Pamela (Charlie Rudolph); his nephews Jared, Adam, and Richard and nieces Erika and Christina. He was predeceased by his nephews Kendall and Aaron.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Paul's lifelong friends Ronnie and Angie for opening their home to him and supporting him during the last four years of his life.
