Forbes, Muriel Margaret - 95, Denmark, passed away in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, on December 30, 2021. She was a daughter of the late Gordon and Millie (Langille) Heighton of River John. She married Robert G. Forbes (died 2000) of Denmark in 1948 and they were married 52 years. Besides helping in the family business, Forbes Bros., and raising three children, she loved to play cards (especially bridge), to travel and to read. She was a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church. She was also an avid Montreal Canadiens fan. Mom loved spending time with family at the cottages at Driftwood Cove and at the Falls. Muriel is survived by her children, Joanne (Allan) MacKinnon, Glenn (Heather); both of Denmark; Lesley Walker, Calgary; grandchildren, Jane (Adam), Gordie (Anders), Tom (Kathleen), Wayne (Ashley) and Duncan (Becca); great-grandchildren, Lena, Elliot, Presley and Piper; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her four brothers, Colin, Victor, Jackie and Gordon; and her only sister, Irene. The family wishes to thank all of the doctors, nurses and homecare workers who cared for Mom. We are particularly grateful to our Newfoundland friends who enabled Mom to stay in her own home with such a wonderful quality of life. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Coulter's Funeral Home in Tatamagouche. Muriel's funeral will be held on May 21 at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Middleton Corners, at 1 p.m. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital Foundation or charity of choice.
