Muriel Winona Beck – 101, Brule, passed away Monday, February 10, 2025 in Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche.  Born April 5th, 1923 in Brule, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Lilly (Stevenson) MacKinnon.

Muriel grew up on a farm in Brule, attended a one room school house, located near Brule Creek. She worked at the ACTC until retirement. Muriel was a member of the Brule Union Church and 50 year member of UCW. She also enjoyed bowling, bridge, crib and was an avid quilter.

Muriel is survived by her sons, Garry (Barbara Snyder), Harrison Mills, B.C, Frank, Brule; daughter, Debra (Wilhelmus Visser), Dartmouth; grandchildren, Richard (Anastasia Ledwon), Randall, Melissa, Michael, Jasmijn;  great grandchildren, Jensen, Aislyn, Ashley, Piran; daughter in law, Judy Beck; brother Gerald (Kay Mingo); brother in law, Kenneth Beck; sisters in law, Barbara Ferguson and Marion Beck. She has many nephews and nieces, that she loved as her own children.

Along with her parents she is predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Thomas Lester Beck; son, Thomas Wayne; daughter, Joan Marie; brother, Laurie (Frances Addy); In laws: Carl Beck (Mabel Sutherland), Clarke Beck, Harold Ferguson.

A Graveside Service in Muriel's memory will be held Saturday, May 31 at 1:00 pm in Lockerby Memorial Cemetery, Cory Lunn officiating. A Reception will be held in the Brule Community Centre from 1:30pm - 4:00pm. All are welcome!

If so desired, donations in Muriel's memory may be made to Willow Lodge, Brule Union Church or any charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Coulter's Funeral Home in Tatamagouche.
