Bailey, Mona Gerene - 75, Oxford Junction, passed away March 24th, 2024 in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Hedley and Edith (Moore) Rector. Mona worked for many years at Gordon's Greenhouses until her retirement. Don't shed a tear the end is near. It is with hopes and prayers that Mom knew we were all by her side. Mom loved to laugh especially when she would scare everyone and anyone she could to the point where she would pee her pants. And for goodness sakes, don't trip or fall in front of her. When she knew that you were ok she would laugh until she shed a tear. Mom and Barb took me golfing one day. She said watch how I'm doing this, so I peaked around the corner, you guessed it. She smacked me right in the forehead (I still have the dent). Barb said, "Nice hit Mona, where did it go?". That was the last of the golfing for me. Mom's other favourite pastimes were hunting, biking, spending time at the camp, and of course laughing at other people's expense. She is survived by her son, Darren; daughter, Lisa Childs (James Dowe); grandchildren, Cory, Cody, Sean, Bailey, Gregory, Shannalee; great-grandchildren, Wesley, Grace, Summer, Lennon; brothers, Craig (Linda) Rector; Danny (Holly) Rector; sister, Millie (Harold) Stone. She was predeceased by her husband, Basil Bailey; partner, John Pye; brother, Jerry Rector; sisters; Barb Perrin and Glenda Blair. Arrangements are in the care of MacDiarmid's Funeral Home & Crematorium. Please join us as we celebrate her life at the Oxford Pioneer Heritage Club, 31 Ellis Street from 10 am - 12 pm on April 13.
