Maxine Annie McCormick (Langille), age 90, died peacefully in her sleep on September 25th, 2024, with her daughters Lisa and Tracy and her loyal dog Osler, by her side. Mom was born in 1933 to Loyal and Jean (Haines) Langille in Malagash, where she lived her entire life and where, at the age of 15, she met her future husband William, and after a brief stint as a teacher and then switchboard operator, she settled into marriage and motherhood. Mom/Granny was famous for her sparkling clean home. In her spare time, Mom enjoyed travelling the world with Dad and spending time with family. Mom was a kind and gentle person who could occasionally surprise us with her mischievous sense of humour. We will miss her dearly. Maxine is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Dave) of Malagash and Tracy (John) of Tatamagouche; grandchildren, Gracey, Danielle, Amanda, and Crystal; great grandchildren Hudson, Daxton, Ella, and Lucas. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Jeanette, and her nieces, Carol and Heather as well as several nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, William; son, Danny; brother Franklin Langille (Mona); niece, Lyn; brother-in-law, Treen (Bonnie); nephew, Roger; brother-in-law, Murdock; nephew, Paul.

The family extends a special thanks to Martha Ferguson and Emma McKellar and all of the VON Nurses (especially Heidi), to nieces Heather and Carol and sister-in-law Jeanette for their visits this past summer and support. Donations can be made to Palliative Care or to the Miner's Cemetery. Family are invited to a Graveside Service on Saturday, October 5th at 3pm in the Miner's Cemetery, Malagash, Rev. Connie McNamara officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Coulter's Funeral Home, Tatamagouche.
