Sparkes, Marie Violet - 75, Truro, passed away Friday, September 6th, 2024 at home. Born in Bathurst, NB, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Clothilda (Doucet) Thibodeau.

Marie was trained in the Canadian Army as a nurse. She later worked as a nurse at various hospitals in Newfoundland. Marie loved being around people and enjoyed cooking for others.

She is survived by her partner, Winston Lockhart; daughters, Lisa; Marion; Angela; son. Darren; sisters, Dorina Thibodeau, Bathurst; Shirley Frenette (Jean-Marc), Beresford; brothers, Donald, Robertville; Frank and Bernard, both of Tracadie; step daughters, Jennifer and Allison; several grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by brothers, Gordon, Gerard and Randy; sisters, Gladys and Annette.

Visitation will be from 2-4 pm Saturday, September 14 in MacDiarmid's Funeral Home & Crematorium, 5075 Main Street, Oxford.
