Our beautiful Lisa, 63 years old, passed away peacefully at Valley Hospice on November 9th, 2024. Lisa grew up in Oxford and lived and worked most of her adult life in the Annapolis Valley. She is survived by sisters, Patricia "Patsy" Hewson and Margaret "Marny" Talbot (Gary Clattenburg); nephew, John Allen; great-nephews and cousins. Lisa was predeceased by her partner, Mike Baltzer, and her parents, John and Marguerite Hewson; sisters, Linda and Mary, and niece, Theresa Allen. She excelled throughout her life and graduated from Nova Scotia Teachers College, Acadia University and Mount Saint Vincent University (Masters).

Lisa was a teacher and principal for 34 years in the Annapolis Valley region and enjoyed her career and her students. When she retired, her students wrote: "We will miss your smile and jokes, your great ideas and sense of humour and checking in on us and keeping us safe." Wow!

She participated in many sports over the years and enjoyed golfing, skiing, skidooing, curling, snorkeling, basketball and coaching. Lisa also enjoyed cooking and dinner gatherings, gardening, the sun and a great tan, traveling south to find that sun, summer at the Heather Beach cottage and Golden Retrievers.

A sincere thank you to the Drs. and extraordinary staff at the Valley Hospice and Kentville Regional Hospital and to all of her wonderful friends that visited often.

Visitation will be from 1-2 pm Saturday, November 23, followed by funeral service at 2 pm, both in MacDiarmid's Funeral Home & Crematorium, Oxford. Cremation has taken place and a private family burial will take place. Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA or a charity of your choice.

She is forever missed....She is loved forever.
