Kenneth Wayne Carruthers
July 14, 1943 – July 22, 2026
Keble, Nova Scotia
Kenneth Wayne Carruthers, 83, of Keble, was born on July 14, 1943, in New Glasgow to the late Keith and Evelyn (Cameron) Carruthers. He passed away on July 22, 2026, in the QEII Halifax Infirmary, with his wife of 49 years by his side.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lynn Carruthers, and their cherished kitty, Winnie; son Anthony (Judith), and grandchildren Max (Kayleigh), Sam (McKinley), and Lucas (Christena); son Thane (Tanya); daughter Trisha (Michael), and grandson Dax; step-grandchildren Samara, Robbie, Liam, and Makenzie; great grandson, Michel; brother James (Joanne); sister-in-law Gwen (Curtis); brother-in-law Evan (Pierrette); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Ken was proud to call Keble home for over 50 years. One of his greatest accomplishments was lovingly restoring the family home and property where he and Mary Lynn raised their children and continued to live.
He loved sports, particularly baseball and hockey. Whether he was watching his numerous family members play hockey at the rink in Tatamagouche or cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays from the comfort of his favourite chair, he was happiest following the games he loved.
He also enjoyed woodworking, as well as feeding and watching his cherished hummingbirds.
Ken loved nature. In his later years, he spent countless hours sitting by his pond, watching the birds, fish, and frogs, and wandering around the property, enjoying the many gardens and flower beds.
