Deveaux, Kathleen "Kay" Marie - September 28, 1930 - November 29, 2022.  Kay was born in Arrowwood, Alberta in the depth of the depression.  She came to Nova Scotia with her parents (her father was from the Oxford area), in 1933.  She was a long time resident of Oxford. The last few years she was a resident of White Birches, and then Gables Lodge of Amherst, N.S, where she passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Guy and Lela Lockhart; her husband, Paul in 1994; her sister, Anne Blake; her daughter, Susan Reid. She will always be in the hearts of her children: Joyce (Joe) Morin; Michael (Terry) Deveaux; Pauline (Michael) Seguin; Lisa (Donnie) McKay; Tim (Juliet) Deveaux; grandchildren Tracy (Ray) Laqua; Matthew (Joy) Crafts; Chris (Nathalie) Deveaux; Ronda (Brian) Smith; Jason and Derek Seguin; Brittany (Alex) McArthur; Angela (Eric) Jury; Scott (Rachel) Reid; Jessica (Chris) Thompson; Payton Deveaux; Lauren McKay; great-grandchildren Nathan and Danielle; Danica and Megan; Abbie, Maddie, Michael and Kate; Leven, Louie and Luke; Sully and Beatrix; Alivia and Josie; great-great-granddaughters Adeline, Lela and Ellie. Mom's love was extended to many friends but her greatest love was for her family.  She unselfishly devoted her time to nourish, teach and encourage all of us. She enjoyed doing various crafts, especially music and singing, at home, at church, and with the ladies' barbershop choruses, the Cobequid FunTones of Oxford and the Border Belles of Amherst. In her retirement years she remained active in the community:  church, Oxford Food Bank, Lionettes and helping residents at seniors homes with crafts, etc.  Her door was always open to friends and family. Visitation and Celebration of Life will be at MacDiarmid's Funeral Home & Crematorium, Oxford, on Saturday, December 17.  Lawry MacLeod will be the officiating clergy. Visitation will start at 1:00 p.m. followed by the Service at 2:00 p.m., with a reception immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the Oxford Food Bank or Pine Grove Cemetery are the family's chosen charities for those who wish to make a donation in Mom's memory.
