Crawford, Joyce Marie - 76 years of age, of Pembroke, Ont., passed away peacefully in her sleep at Miramichi Lodge, Pembroke, Ont., on September 14th, 2023. She was born in Wallace, NS on May 15, 1947. She was the daughter of the late Alvin and Ella (Williams) Crawford. Joyce went to hairdressing school in Halifax. She later moved to Sudbury, Ont. She had her own hairdressing shop in her home. She also worked in the kitchen at the Sudbury Memorial Hospital and at the Cardinal Motor Inn, Sudbury, Ont. She later moved to Pembroke, Ont. Joyce enjoyed her music, always tuned to rock and roll, blueberry picking, yard saling, soap operas, bingo, card playing, camping, spending time with her family and friends, always looking forward to her annual two week visit down east to spend time with family and friends. Joyce had a great sense of humour, always laughing, joking around, pulling pranks and most of all caring for her three children. Joyce will be sadly missed by her sibling, Alton (Michelle) Crawford; her daughter, Kimberly (Chris) Leahy; her son, Kevin Miller; her grandchildren, Anthony (Kirsten) Zadow, Brittany (Dan) MacDonald, Alex Dupuis; great-grandchildren, Elliot and William Zadow, Taylynn and Della MacDonald; step grandchildren, Jessica Leahy (Konner Sehn), Cole Leahy; step great-grandchildren, Isabell MacDonald, Harmony and Raphael Sehn. She was a long-time friend to Randy Devieau. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Dean (Norma) Crawford; her daughter, Katherine Miller; her granddaughter, Anna Grace; her nephew, Justin Crawford; her great-niece, Josie-Lynn Crawford; and siblings in infancy. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm Tuesday, July 9 in MacDiarmid's Funeral Home & Crematorium, 5075 Main Street, Oxford. Graveside service will follow in Wentworth United Cemetery.
