Ivan
Hoare
Jun 7, 1944 — Mar 18, 2025
Ivan Murray Hoare, age 80, passed March 18, 2025. As the rain drizzled outside and the eagles perched, with wife June at his side, Ivan passed peacefully in his beloved Fox Harbour as he wished. Ivan enjoyed all things outdoors, including hunting with the boys, Wayne and Norman. He spent many hours traveling Canada and the USA with his wife June. In later years he was often found just "going for a drive". Most drives landed him where there were tractors. A passion he eagerly shared with others and family, even finding him restoring a few tractors along the way. Ivan retired from Windsor Salt company, Pugwash, having worked underground. Then, eventually closing the family farm to spend his golden years with his beloved grandchildren. Summers were not the same in Fox Harbour without visits and extended stays at Grampie and Grandma's. Ivan would often be found sitting on the lawn under his tree as cottagers and friends went by or stopped for a visit. Ivan and his wife June (O'Leary) Hoare spent 58 years married. Together they raised 5 children-Curtis, Michelle, Crystal, Anthony and John Patrick. Later, adding son by choice Darren. Grandchildren include Dylan, Josiah, Maddison, Madeline, Jordan, Makayla, Adriana, Lyla and by choice Aydan, Adam and Matt. Ivan loved his children and adored his grandchildren. Ivan will be missed by family, and friends Bobby, George and Billy. In his final trip he joins his parents George and Hilda (Ogilvie) Hoare, granddaughter Abigail and friend Sonny. Ivan's farewell greeting was often "We will see you later" and he never said "goodbye". Many thanks are extended to all who were involved in Ivan's care the last 2 months, especially his 'angel' Martha. Arrangements are in the care of MacDiarmid's Funeral Home & Crematorium. There will be no funeral or memorial. Ivan's wishes were respected, his body has been donated to medical science.
