MacDonald, Hibbert Eugene "Gene" – 77, Port Howe, passed away December 22, 2022, at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst. Born in Port Howe he was a son of the late Hibbert George and Marguerite (Carty) MacDonald. Gene grew up on a beef farm and maintained it for several years on his own. He worked mainly as a steel draftsman retiring in 2012. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Elizabeth "Betty" MacDonald, Port Howe, son, Jonathan "Jo-D" MacDonald (Megan), Nappan, grandchildren, Cameron and Brennan MacDonald, aunt Ivy and several cousins. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Florence Chapman. In keeping with Gene's wishes there will be no services. Donations in memory may be made to the Red Cross Society.
