James Gregory "Greg" Johnson – 77, Tatamagouche, passed away peacefully January 4, 2025, in Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche.

Born in Malagash, Greg was a son of the late Carson and Phyllis (Chisholm) Johnson.

Greg enjoyed being outdoors, and especially loved fishing. He could be often found fishing locally off the Wallace Wharf and at River John. Greg had been a resident of the Tatamagouche area for over 15 years. Being an avid hockey fan, Greg was a diehard Boston Bruins Fan and treasured his prized Brad Marchand Jersey. He enjoyed spending time and getting caught up with his friends and would often be found at the Tatamagouche Shell Station, where they would gather for coffee on a daily basis.

He is survived by his common law spouse, Jean Purdy; sons, Jamie, Stoney Creek, Ont; Barry (Jamie), St. Catherines, Ont; Chris (Erica), Sarnia, Ont.; grandchildren, Ruby, Alice, Jaxon, Lincoln; brother, Brian (Tina), St. Catherines, Ont; half siblings, Heather Hiltz, John Johnson, Cory Johnson, Yvonne "Bonnie" Johnson.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Randy; sister, Karen in infancy; former wife, Hazel.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Coulter's Funeral Home in Tatamagouche. Committal of Greg's ashes will take place in the Union Church Cemetery in Bayhead, Monday, August 4 at 11am.
