Mattinson, Eva Grace - It is with deepest sorrow into unspeakable joy that we announce the graduation of Eva Grace Mattinson (nee Carter), our mother and greatest champion and supporter. She left us to step into the marvelous presence of her glorious saviour and Lord on November 25, 2025. We will miss and love her dearly, but also celebrate her victory. She ran her race and has crossed the finish line into her glory.

Born in Pugwash on July 12, 1936 to Morton James and Irene Selina (MacDonald) Carter, the big sister to her five siblings, two of whom have gone on before her, Henry Carter and Ivy (Carter) Hines, leaving James Webb (Diane) Carter, Pugwash; Eleanor Cochrane, New Minas; Robert (Maxine) Carter, Pugwash; as well as her children, Eva (Ken) Cameron, Pugwash; Vance (Barb) Mattinson, Oxford; Rozella Murray, Oxford; Roy (Kim) Mattinson, Truro; Ivy (Brian) Kierstead, Amherst; Joann (Richard) Strickland, Pictou; Esther (Trevor) St. Peter, Morrisburg, ON.

Also left behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Marven; her daughter, Mary Baker; her son in infancy, Johnathon; twin daughters in stillbirth, Glory and Grace; as well as granddaughter, Melanie Harnish.

Mom's passing has left a huge hole in the lives of all her family and friends. All who knew her cherished her friendship and she carried her faith as the foundation and pride of her life. All who knew her knew of her love for her Lord. She was a member of Oxford Church of the Nazarene, where she was very active as a Sunday School teacher, mentor and prayer warrior.

We want to thank all of the nursing and hospital staff at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre for their continued care and gentleness with Mom as she made her approach and crossing.

Arrangements are in the care of MacDiarmid's Funeral Home & Crematorium. We will be celebrating her life and her victory on Saturday, November 29th, 2025, with visitation from 11 am - 12 pm, followed immediately by funeral service at 12 pm, all in Oxford Church of the Nazarene. All are welcome to attend and see her off. Donations may be made to Oxford Church of the Nazarene or Canadian Cancer Society.
