Norton, Gary Allen – 57, Pugwash Junction, passed away April 3, 2021, at the North Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Pugwash. Born in Stanford, Maine, he was a son of Allen Norton, Tampa, FL, and the late Jean (Scott) Gayton. Gary had worked at Seagull Pewter for many years. He was a member of the Wallace Men's Club and Wallace Masonic Lodge #76. Gary enjoyed gardening and cooking; loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and always enjoyed candy and snack foods. Besides his father, he is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jean Elizabeth (Ripley) Norton; children, Zachary Norton (Sara), Oshawa Ont., Bethany and Bryson Norton, both at home; grandchildren, Paige, Kennadi, Jordynn and Charlie; chosen children, Lucas, Andrew, Matthew, Joseph, Isaiah and Sarah Duggan, Robert Carde;  siblings, Kenneth Norton and Darren Gayton (Cassandra) all of Kindersley, Sask., Kimberley Norton (John), Toronto, Karen Langille, Upper North River, Scott Gayton and Brian Gayton, both of Tatamagouche. Besides his mother he was predeceased by a sister, Cheryl Gayton, grandson, Kenneth Carde, brother-in-law, Allen Langille. Gary has donated his body to the Dalhousie School of Medicine. A celebration of his life will be announced and held at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Parkinson Foundation of Nova Scotia or the North Cumberland Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. The family would like to thank Dr. Igor Semenov and the nursing staff of North Cumberland Memorial Hospital for all the care and kindness given to Gary.
