Born in Urbania, Hants Co., he was the middle child and only son of the late James and Addie (Hamilton) Rose. Fred was the last surviving member of his immediate family. His family was his main focus in life – loving them dearly. Also, his good friend, Earle Swinamer.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by daughter, Alisa (Blenkhorn) Duggan-Veno; sisters, Carol (Syd) McCabe, Joyce (Tom) Grue. The family would like to thank the staff of East Cumberland Lodge for their care and support of Fred in his final days as well as to Colchester East Hants VON for their care of Fred while he was at home.
