Henwood, Frederick Gerald - 74, Mount Pleasant, passed away peacefully with his family by his side August 16th, 2023 in North Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Pugwash. Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Gerald and Phyllis (Nunn) Henwood. Freddie was a welder by trade. He enjoyed spending his days outdoors, either hunting, fishing, clamming, tending to his small but mighty garden or just tinkering in his garage. He knew all the best fishing holes and could tell the best fishing or hunting stories. Freddie loved spending time with family and friends who adored him for his wit, humor and just plain joy he brought to their day. He (along with his fashionable Camo and Croc attire) will be deeply missed. He is survived by his partner, Brenda Mawdsley; children, Dawn Henwood (Kevin Casey); Paul (Vanessa) Henwood; chosen daughter, Alisha Mawdsley; grandchildren, Julia, Ainsley; Ashlee; chosen grandchildren, Alexandria, Danielle and Liam; brother, Brian (Dorothy); sister, Patricia Michels Wagner; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Linda Cormier; chosen daughter, Dawn Dempsey; sister, Betty Jean. A time to celebrate Fred's life will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, August 20 (in keeping Fred's lifestyle we hope all dress casual) in MacDiarmid's Funeral Home & Crematorium.
