Obituary

Frances Fraser, 94, passed away peacefully in Willow Lodge Home for Special Care in Tatamagouche, on February 12, 2025, where she lived out the last 9 1/2 years. Born in Burlington, Kings County, she was the daughter of Joseph and Ruth (Ogilvie) Comeau.

Mom was a homemaker and mother to four boys and one girl.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her only sibling, Vera and brother-in-law Nelson Spicer, her husband Earl of 56 years and three sons, Richard Brian Comeau, Bernard and Ransford Fraser.

Surviving Frances is her son Leonard (Rita) Fraser, New Brunswick, and daughter Norma (Colin) Stewart Truro Heights, N.S.  Grandmother to five grandsons, Darren and Jamie Stewart, Christopher and Corey Fraser and Matthew Fraser (Ransford's son). Great-grandmother to twin girls Keelyn and Taegan Stewart. Mom was a cat person and before moving to Willow Lodge she would feed all the stray cats that showed up on her doorstep. When asked if she was feeding them she would always say no and she would claim she didn't know why they were staying around.  After moving into Willow Lodge, the cats living there would seem to gravitate to her and they would sleep on her bed.  When she was healthier and able she enjoyed music and dancing, playing bingo and shopping for clothes. Her favorite tv show was The Price is Right and she was known as one of the three Golden Girls at the Lodge along with Doreen and Eunice. She seemed to be a social butterfly because you could never find her in her room throughout the day when you went to visit at the Lodge.

Special thanks to all the caregivers and staff of Willow Lodge for their excellent care over the years.

Arrangements entrusted to Coulter's Funeral Home, Tatamagouche and as per Mom's request, Cremation has taken place and a private Graveside Service for the family will be held in the Spring in Lockerby Memorial Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche.
