West New Annan

Evelyn Elizabeth Campbell

Evelyn Elizabeth Campbell – 87, West New Annan, passed away peacefully in the morning hours of Friday, August 21, 2026, at Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche.

Born in Truro, Evelyn spent most of her life raising her family and working on the farm. She had many interests and talents, including crocheting and quilting, and was well known for her beautiful gardens and her particular love of roses. Evelyn found great joy in the beauty of her surroundings. She often took her daily stroll by the brook, taking time to enjoy the beauty of creation. She was often heard saying "some good" over a bowl of porridge.

A woman of deep faith, Evelyn was a member of the former West New Annan United Church, where she taught Sunday School. In later years, she continued to attend church meetings with friends at the Tatamagouche Library. She had a great love and admiration for children and enjoyed music and singing. Her musical favourites included Elvis Presley and, more recently, Daniel O’Donnell. Evelyn also had a great love for animals, especially her special cat, Tinkerbell and grand-dog, Bella, who were truly her fur babies. Evelyn also had a love for Hereford cattle, even being involved in those late night deliveries!

She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her family: children, Sherry (Carl Sarson), West New Annan; Scott (Lynn), Middleton; and Michael (Erin), West New Annan; grandchildren, Rachel (Sarah), Nicholas, Marina, Morgan, Jacob and Taylor; great-grandson, Gavin; sister, Brenda; and brothers, Bob and Bill.

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Minnie Moore, and her loving husband, Ernest Murray Campbell; twin daughters, Darlene and Donna.

A time of visitation to celebrate Evelyn’s life will be held on Friday, August 28, from 2–4 p.m. at Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche. Evelyn will be laid to rest with her husband at Bell Gift Cemetery at a private family interment.

Family flowers only, please. If so desired, donations in Evelyn’s memory may be made to the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Alzheimer Society, Canadian Cancer Society, or the SPCA.

Evelyn’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Maplewood Manor, Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Colchester East Hants Health Centre, and Aberdeen Hospital for their exceptional care, support, and compassion.

Evelyn’s gentle spirit, deep faith, love of family, and appreciation for the simple beauty of life will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
