Polley, Eva Maude – 94, Pugwash, passed away peacefully Monday, April 11, 2022, at the East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash. Born in Pugwash she was a daughter of the late Edward and Ethel (Williams) Sarson. Eva had worked at the Sunset Adult Residential Center for 15 years and later at East Cumberland Lodge for 5 years, retiring at age 65. Following her retirement she worked for several years at Mary's Shop and Stop, all in Pugwash. She was a longtime active member of the Rebekah Lodge, Silver Spray #1 and the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Peace Branch #60. She is survived by sons, Roy (Diane) Polley, Pugwash Junction; Ivan (Shona) Polley and Charles Polley, all of Pugwash; daughters, Mary (Fred) Ferdinand and Cindy Izzard, all of Pugwash; 25 grandchildren; 59 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Earl Polley; son, Edward Polley; grandchildren, Stacey Polley and Jeremy Polley; brother, Ivan Sarson; sisters, Lois Lockhart and Doreen Langille. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2022, at the Wallace Bay Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made the East Cumberland Lodge or the Rebekah Lodge.
