Langille, Elizabeth Ruth "Betty" – 84, Malagash, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025 at the East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash. Born in Tatamagouche she was a daughter of the late Brenton and Grace (Demings) Atwell. Betty had worked on the family farm along with her husband Shurman while raising her family. She was a member of the Malagash United Church and a former member of the United Church Women. For many years she and her husband served as caretakers of the South Shore Cemetery. Betty is survived by daughters, Ruth (Colin) Brownell, Pugwash; Elizabeth (J.R.) Gloade, Debert; grandchildren, Justin (Sarah) Brownell, Port Howe, Colby Tattrie, Truro, Leslie Tattrie, Moncton, Hayley (Alexey) Kasatkina, Toronto and Tristan Smith, Truro; great-grandchildren, Jack Brownell, Payton Tattrie and Demitri Kasatkina; several half-siblings. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Shurman Langille and several half-siblings. A celebration of Betty's life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2025 at the Malagash United Church. Rev. Connie McNamara officiating. Burial in the South Shore Cemetery. The family would like to thank the management and staff of the East Cumberland Lodge for the excellent care Betty received during time with them.
