GELDART, Elaine Ann, age 79, died at East Cumberland Lodge in Pugwash, NS on April 24, 2026, after a tough battle with cancer and a debilitating stroke in spring of 2025.

She was a 1993 graduate of the Correctional Worker Program at NSCC - Hants County.  Mom worked for 22 years at various jobs, mostly working with adults with challenges.

Mom lived a difficult life, overcoming many challenges and obstacles, always making sure we were loved and cared for.

Mom enjoyed walking, hiking, skating and cross country skiing in her younger years.  I have been told she was an expert water skier as well.

When mom's mind was over-thinking, she followed in her fathers footsteps and would jump in the car for a long drive to nowhere...just to think and clear her mind.  It was her favourite thing to do.

Elaine is survived by her children, Paul (Tanya) Fowler, Brentwood, Shelley (Gar) Benvie, Truro Heights, Tracey Musgrave, Paqtnkek. Grandchildren Jason, Emilie (Alex), Brad (Krystal), Jackie, Lee (Alannah), Matthew, Dylan (Taylor) and Jonathon. and 7 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brothers Don (Ann) Geldart, Debert and Jim (Brenda) Geldart, Brookside.

She was predeceased by her parents, Rollie and Dot Geldart; daughters, Krista Brown and Deborah Fowler.

We would like to express sincere thanks to the staff at ECL for the wonderful care they gave mom over the past 9 months - especially Carey and Jimmy.  She lit up like a lightbulb when she saw either one of you!

Arrangements have been entrusted to Coulter's Funeral Home, Tatamagouche.

A Celebration of Elaine's Life will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 2 to 4 pm in The Truro Alliance Church, 195 Truro Heights Rd., Truro Heights, with private family interment at a later date in the Middle Road Cemetery, Debert. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
