Blakney
May 17, 1954 — Jul 31, 2026
Pugwash
I rode off into the sun on July 31, 2026. I was in excellent company, with Sherry, Nancy, and Tanya at my bedside.
I'm finally free of the pain that had been my constant companion for over 25 years.
This is my final love letter to the people who have shared my life's journey.
To Sherry and Nicole—you are my everything! Bahaa, my son, thank you for taking such good care of Nicole. I have no doubt that you and Nicole will be together even longer than Sherry and I were—44 wonderful years.
Nancy and Rob (Stephanie and Jordan), your unwavering support for us has been tireless. Love you both!
Rob, I will miss our talks over coffee. My dear Makenna, your visits always cheered me up. We shared a deep love of animals. I especially enjoyed meeting the birds.
To Shawn and Tina, thank you for your support and love. Shawn, you are like a little brother to me. Your wedding was my last trip out of the country. It was such a wonderful time, filled with laughter.
To my brother, Herb, in Alberta, haven't we had one hell of a journey? Those were the days—having a beer and talking about the rigs in the garage.
To our friends, thank you for your kindness over the years. To Sherry and Nancy's girl tribe, thank you for always supporting them.
To Linda, thank you for telling me I looked like Brad Pitt—and Stop Crying!
To Pat and Ian, thank you for welcoming me into your family with open arms and loving me like a son. You were there through all of it the good and bad days. I have missed you both. I 'll be seeing to you soon.Pat put on the coffee and get out the smokes.
Finally, don't be sad for too long. I'm finally free.
To Willow Lodge and Martha Ferguson, thank you for all your kindness and care.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Coulter's Funeral Home, Tatamagouche.
