It is with profound sadness and immeasurable love, surrounded by his devoted family, David Douglas Quinn , 64, of Oxford Junction, passed away peacefully on December 24th, 2025 in the North Cumberland Health Care Centre, Pugwash. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Herman and Betty (Harvey) Quinn. He is survived by his loving wife, the former Janice Smith; daughters, Melissa Quinn (Scott Porter); Stephanie (Jimmy) Ward; stepchildren, Bradley (Jennie) Berry; Theresa (Dan) Lirette; grandchildren, Jonah, Averie, Hadley and Kassidy; step-grandchildren, Ben, Brady, Justin and Matty; sister, Donna (David) Tait; nephew, Kevin. David began his working career as a truck driver for the former Gordon's Greenhouses, Oxford, then for M&S Food Services and later with Maritime Pride Eggs, Amherst, all where he made many lifelong friendships. David's interests involved a great love of music and stereo equipment, (inspired many years ago by his brother-in-law, David Tait);David was notorious for buying old pieces of stereo equipment from somewhere and have it on the table repairing it until it sounded the way he thought it should. David also enjoyed bass fishing, four wheeling on the trails, David was a great cook, loved playing his guitar and he loved his cat Josh. David was a man of deep kindness, gentle strength, patience and love. He was the heart of our family, our confidant and best friend. I will forever miss our quiet evenings together, our drives and adventures, dancing in the kitchen (even if it was 5 am in the morning). Though we only had a short 3 years together, he showed me how good life could be, and though his passing leaves a deep emptiness in all his family's hearts, the memories he left us will remain a constant reminder of the life we shared together. We sincerely wish to thank the Amherst Palliative team, Dr. Short and the VON Nursing for the kindness and care they gave to David. A special thank you to Martha Ferguson, Dr. Peter Blaikie and the Palliative Nursing team at the North Cumberland Health Care Centre for the care David received during his illness. Your care and support during this very difficult time will never be forgotten. Following David's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 1-2 pm Saturday, January 3rd, followed immediately by funeral service at 2 pm, both in MacDiarmid's Funeral Home, Oxford. In lieu of flowers , a donation can be made to the Lillian Albion Animal Shelter in Amherst or a charity of your choice.
