Obituary

David Scott Graham, 74, of River John, NS passed away peacefully in his happy place at ‘the shore’ on the morning of September 15th. He left us with one of his favorite things in this world, a beautiful sunset over a low-tide. Born in Halifax June 9, 1952 to loving parents, Raymond & Gwendolyn and big brother to Rick (Anne) & Daniel (Jennifer), ‘Super’ Dave became a part of fabric of each community he lived. Dave was a standout multi-sport athlete in his younger years, playing collegiate football for the Dalhousie Tigers & Senior Baseball for the West Side Monarchs in Corner Brook, NFLD. He never lost his love for sport, coaching ‘the boys’ at every level of hockey (Port Hawkesbury / Sackville) and spent years coaching the Sackville High football team. Away from sport, Dave enjoyed a near 40 year career with Ultramar, succeeding both in business development & people leadership. Dave had a relentless passion for his Scottish heritage, and contributed many years to the Halifax Burns Club serving as President in 2010.

Dave raised three boys with Elaine; Blair (Susan), Christopher (Renee), and Matthew (Brittany). They both beam with pride at the opportunity to speak on the boys growth & accomplishments. Dave’s passion was his lineage, and his heart grew in strength spending time with granddaughters Cailey (Brie), Chloe, Hazel, Norah and stayed with us long enough to welcome great granddaughter, Elouise.

Dave spent the last 22 years with Carol Blundon, first enjoying life in Bedford prior to retiring in paradise where they converted a seasonal cottage in to ‘An Lagan Gruemach’. They enjoyed endless serene sunsets, cultivating the perfect vegetable garden, enjoying boundless memories with the best of friends & family, and an ever-changing view of the Atlantic.

Dave will be remembered for his humble nature, loving heart and an unapologetic loyalty to his loved ones.
