Obituary

Cathy Marjorie Thompson passed away unexpectedly at home in Burnaby, British Columbia on November 29th, 2025 at the age of 63.
Born on May 27th, 1962 to Rose (Rhindress) and Willis Thompson in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia.

Cathy grew up in Middleboro where she made many great childhood memories with her younger sisters, Sheri and Jackie. Early in her work career, Cathy worked in food services at her family-owned restaurant, The Yellow Rose in Wallace Ridge, Nova Scotia. She then moved to Toronto with her sister Sheri to study film make up and eventually settled in Burnaby, British Columbia where she worked in the hospitality industry as well as customer service.

Over the years, Cathy took interest in paranormal investigations, doing research for her books with her sister Sheri. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and by traveling back home to Nova Scotia to tell ghost stories to her nieces and nephews. Cathy was a kind and generous person but was not afraid to tell you how it was if she felt that she needed to, though she will also be remembered for her witty sense of humour. Cathy was a best friend, therapist and confidant to her sister Sheri. Cathy was a very special aunt to her nieces and nephews making numerous memories with each of them that they will always cherish greatly.

Cathy will be greatly missed by her siblings, Ronald Thompson, Evon Thompson, Veralynn Thompson (since deceased) (Richard), Sheri Thompson Palcich (Tony), Jacqueline Hurley (Arnold), Jason Thompson and her sister from another mother and best friend, Cheryl Hildebrand.
As well, Cathy will be missed dearly by her nieces and nephews, Rhonda, Chad, Sara, John, Vanessa, Michael, Josh, Korren, Kyle, Nora, Thane and Catherine as well as several great nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Cathy is predeceased by her siblings, Wayne Thompson, Dianne Thompson, two brothers in infancy, nephew David Feeley, great-nephew in infancy Levi Sauers and her sister-in-law Beverly Thompson.

Arrangements are in the care of MacDiarmid's Funeral Home & Crematorium. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm Sunday, July 5 at Riverside Cemetery, Wallace River. A time of food and fellowship will follow at Jacqueline and Arnold's home at 127 Jungle Road, Oxford Junction .
