RECORDING OF FUNERAL SERVICE IS BELOW OBITUARY
Carole Louise (Annis) Patriquin - 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash. Carole was a daughter of the late Harry and Irene (Brownell) Annis and the beloved wife of the late Sonny Patriquin. Carole worked for a number of years in the restaurant industry as a cook at both the Lady Wentworth and The Valley Inn Restaurant and Motel. She worked at Sunset Industries in the woodworking shop and for many years during blueberry season you could find Carole scooping berries, punching tickets or dumping buckets for Murray Rushton. Carole's biggest job of all was being the mom to her seven children, whom she loved dearly. Carole enjoyed bingo, baking, crocheting, knitting and doing crafts of any sort. You could find Carole behind the scenes supporting Sonny, in any adventure he went on such as coaching ball teams, and his band The Country Rebels. You could always find cats, dogs and kids at any time by Carole's side. Sunday visits and Christmas dinner with her family were her favourite things. Carole is survived by her children, Cheryl Boyd, Mike (Terry), Doug (Danielle), Susan, Cindy (Larry) Roberts, Patti (Lawson) Purdy; sister, Christy (Ray) Hayman, 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by daughter, Deborah Polley, father and mother-in-law, Ainsley and Patricia (Alexander) Patriquin, sons-in-law, Mark Crowley and Glen Boyd. Special thanks and appreciation for Mom's care over the last two year go to VON Cumberland, Gables Nursing Home and East Cumberland Lodge. Donations can be made to East Cumberland Lodge, Alzheimer Society, or LA Animal Shelter. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday September 15, with funeral at 10:30 a.m. Thursday September 16, both in MacDiarmid's Funeral Home and Crematorium, 5075 Main Street, Oxford.
