Mattinson, Robert Wayne "Bobby" - 68, Oxford, passed away August 25th, 2021 in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Oxford, he was a son of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Marshall) Mattinson. Bobby's career as a flooring installer was in excess of 53 years. He took pride in his work and just recently admitted that our son was a WEE BIT BETTER installer than he was. This was not an easy thing for him to admit..lol He was always known in the flooring installing business as the Best of the Best and took pride in the fact that other people knew and commented on his excellent workmanship. His many interest consisted of fishing, hunting and enjoyed many, many, hours of watching Star Trek, (The Next Generation) Bobby's love for his family our family and friends is something he always cherished. His dream of becoming a Papa/Grandpa became a reality with the birth of his 4 grandchildren, Brayden, Janai, Morgan and Danica and Bonus grandchildren, Cole, Haylie and Charlie and last but not least his 2 fur babies Zoey and Zeke. The love he had for his children, Laurie and Dwayne was astronomical. He loved both of his children with all his heart. He beamed with pride at all their accomplishments from childhood to adulthood. Bobby was loved by all that knew him. He was so compassionate to others needs and was there to help at the drop of a pin because that is who he was. He had many friends whom he loved and shared many hours enjoying their company as they were a very important part of his life. He will be missed and continue to be loved by his family, shirley's family and friends. God Speed and Rest Easy He is survived by wife, the former Shirley Rushton; daughter, Laurie (Parker Archibald); son, Dwayne; grandchildren, Brayden, Janai, Cole, Haylie, Charley, Morgan and Danica; brothers, Brad, Glen and Gary; sisters, Helen, Donna, Theresa, Brenda and Susan; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Diana, and Beverly in infancy.
