Blair
Perrott
Nov 14, 1933 — Oct 5, 2022
Dartmouth & Malagash
Perrott, Blair Graham – 88 of Dartmouth and until recently of Malagash, passed away October 5th, 2022. Born in Halifax on November 14th, 1933, he was the son of the late Henry and Eva Perrott. Blair grew up in a large and loving family in Spryfield. His love of learning led him to studies at Oshawa Missionary College, Atlantic Union College in Massachusetts, and St. Mary's University in Halifax. He remained an avid reader/learner for his entire life, and delighted in the academic pursuits of his children, whether formal or informal. As a young teacher in Halifax, it was Blair's good fortune to meet his wife of 60 years, Marjorie (Lord). Blair and Marjorie complemented each other beautifully, and his loving support was a constant in her life. More than fifty years ago, Blair and Marjorie bought and renovated a farmhouse in Malagash. As working teachers, Blair and Marjorie were able to spend long happy summers there with their children. Upon retirement, Blair and Marjorie spent 25 more happy years gardening, enjoying friends, and reading in front of the woodstove. He remained grateful for the community well after his move to Dartmouth. Blair often said that the happiest time in his life was when his children were small. He was a gentle, warm and open father, who radiated love and was confident that love was returned. For the last five years, he lived with and was surrounded by his children, who continued to learn from his wonderful example until the end. Surviving are his adoring children, Stephen (Heather), Lorri Anne, Susan and Allyson (Scott); grandchildren, Matthew and John; great granddaughter, Madilyn; siblings, Doug and Glorina. Cremation has taken place. A small gathering will take place at the Harbour Room at Cole Harbour Place on Monday, October 10th from 3 – 5 pm . Memorial donations to the Dartmouth General Hospital Foundation or the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements are under the direction of Coulter's Funeral Home, Tatamagouche. Online condolences can be forwarded to the family by visiting the funeral home website at: www.mmcfunerals.com
