MacAloney, Bette Lorraine - 71, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Wednesday, March 22nd, 2023 in East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Bert and Louise (Greeley) Oickle. Bette worked alongside her mother for many years at the family business Shady Rest Home and later operated the hot lunch program for many years at ORHS. She is survived by her daughters, Julie (Wade) Adshade, Oxford; Anne (Kelly) Lamont, Amherst; her beloved grandchildren, Emily (Blake Best) and Thomas (Erica Trenholm), both of Oxford, whom she loved deeply and was so proud of; great-grandchild, Riley, whom she adored and loved; brothers, Russell, Ronald, Donald and Bob; sister, Sandra; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Bette is predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, the late Alton MacAloney. At this time the family would like to take the opportunity to thank ALL staff at East Cumberland Lodge for providing such wonderful care to our Mother. Your compassion and kindness you show your residents will never be forgotten. As per Bette's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family graveside will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to MacDiarmid's Funeral Home & Crematorium, Oxford.
