The family of Basil David Crowley regrets to announce his passing February 8, 2023 at the age of 89 surrounded by family. Basil recently lost his wife Eleanor of 55 years. Left to mourn are his three daughters, Valerie (Wayne) Christie, Lore (Robert) McLaren and Heather (Brian) Squires; and five grandchildren. Basil was born in Streets Ridge November 11, 1933 to James and Rowena (nee Angevine). He had 13 siblings and is predeceased by Doreen, Percy, Dwayne, Darlene, Barbara, Donna, Deanna and Gary; surviving siblings Jean, Florence, Shirley, Laura and Laurie. He spent most of his life working for Payson Dobson and living in the Streets Ridge and Oxford area. He lived a long life filled with many stories that he enjoyed sharing and they grew more interesting at each retelling. Arrangements are in the care of MacDiarmid's Funeral Home & Crematorium. Visiting hours will be held at his house 5 James Street, Oxford on Sunday February 12 th from 1 to 3 pm.
