It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Amanda Mae (Carde) Oickle , 45, of Oxford, on Saturday, May 11th, 2025. Amanda was a loving mother, wife, devoted daughter, friend, co-worker, Chief Stewart, NSGEU Local 29 (VP at VON Cumberland Site). Amanda was a fierce basketball mom and was known for her tell it like it is attitude, always strongly advocating for what she believed in. She was up for anything and loved a good adventure. She will be forever missed by her three children, Carly and Wyley, Oxford; step-daughter, Shelby (Johnathan Buboire), Amherst; two grandchildren, Evan and Charlotte; father, Fred Carde, Springhill; brothers, Fred Jr (Trish), Springhill; Robert (Beth), Springhill; sister, Amber (Les), Springhill; special uncle, Kenneth (Tanya) Fenton, PEI, and many nieces and nephews. Special extended family, known as Momma to the RDMC brothers; Devona Doncaster; and Amanda Mattinson. Predeceased by mother, Katherine Carde; maternal and paternal grandparents. Arrangements are in the care of MacDiarmid's Funeral Home & Crematorium. A celebration of life will be held at 3 pm Saturday, May 17th in the Oxford Arena, 70 Waverly Street, Oxford.
