Webb, Helen Crowe - 90, Westchester, it is with sadness we announce the death of Helen Crowe Webb on Saturday, June 16, 2012 in Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche. Born April 1, 1922 in Westchester, she was the youngest of four daughters born to J. Harris and Theresa (Brown) Webb. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. From early years until her retirement, she was employed by the import and export department of the Canadian National Railway. She was a staunch supporter of the Liberal Party, and immensely enjoyed political discussions with anyone who was up to the challenge. Due to ill health in 2008 she was forced to leave her beloved Westchester, to where she will return for burial in the Eagles Hill cemetery in her family’s lot. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Doris Webb, Vera (Mrs. Edgar Roberts), and Yvonne (Mrs. James Henderson); nephews, Glen Roberts and Gilbert Henderson. Helen was survived by 3 nieces and 2 nephews; many friends and former neighbors. Visiting will be from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, June 19 in MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home, 14067 Hwy. No. 4, Wentworth (447-2930). A service celebrating Helen’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 20 in the Westchester Baptist Church, with Rev. Darryl Dykens officiating.
